Having a Drink with Eden Canyon Vineyards

The wine industry is a subtle but blooming industry. Wine makers often work under the radar and only appear 3-4 years after once their wine has been properly aged to perfection. It is a slow but soulful process. Meeting Elaine Villamin at the Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Pasadena, California during a live radio broadcast of Master Sommelier Michael Jordan was a pleasure as we got to have a taste of their exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon “Estates” vintage.

Eden Canyon Vineyards is one of the topmost authorities when it comes to wines. Their tragic history and successful comeback attracted wine lovers all over the world. Their skill and talent in making wonderful wines is legendary. Their Cabernet Sauvignon “Estates” are known to be very beautiful and delicious. Since starting to plant from 1996, Eden Canyon continues to grow and prosper. Wine makers like Eden Canyon, though very popular, still need to compete with other wine makers. A perfectly aged wine is useless if no one could find them and take a taste. Like other wine makers, Eden Canyon does not want their creations to be put to waste and would love to share them to the world.

Master Sommelier Luis de Santos gave them the accolade for “Best Value Wine 2006”. They also won a “San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Medal”. You can find their wines being poured at events for Lisa Marie Presley and other celebrities. Their precious collections are also highly regarded at fine dining menus like Gary Danko.

Today, they continue to utilize and cultivate their 9 acres of land with natural rootstock Cabernet Sauvignon Clone UC Davis 08. Their vast vineyard produces 2.5 – 3 tons an acre for a total of approximately 27 tons of grapes. Their quality products are all hand picked and transported to soon be part of their amazing wine collection. Danny Villamin and Elaine Villamin continue to strive for the success of wine making.
